Again, please remember that the news is not all bad. There are some legitimate online jobs from home and many people have done well. The best thing is to create your own job. In the meantime, I strongly advise you to check with the Better Business Bureau online. One thing people forget, is even if the program is very legitimate, the methods of running that business may not be what suits everyone, and you may not succeed even with a perfectly legit business.
For example, your work at home program may require you to make cold calls to each prospect you locate.
You may not have the phone skills or time to do this level of followup, so even if the business/program is topnotch, you just may never get comfortable with this marketing and your business may fail.
Here are some tips to help you assess any program offered whether it is advertised on Google, Yahoo, MSN, AOL or any other of your favorite search engines:
1. Ask for a clear explanation of how you will get prospects and close the sale. How much might you need to spend to make one sale, and as above, will the system close the sale or will YOU need to?
2. Ask for an example of what you will need to do each day, who will train you, and how accessible will they be to you. Many online programs use email exclusively, so how will you be able to communicate with your trainer/support and how quickly will they be able to respond?
3. Ask how soon you may see profitability and what level of investment in time and money will you need to best assure this happens.
Writing jobs like article writing, blogs or translation tasks is another big area to enter, so if you are good at some languages then you can turn it in to quite a lucrative business working from home. Blogs are excellent for those that can write out strong opinions and put them on blogs, there are many opportunities here for those who can sit down with a cup of coffee and then just write.
Creative people are needed as well, there are tons of jobs to be done, when it comes to graphical design for web pages, PDF documents and different sorts of illustrations and design.
If you really feel you are talented and have something very special to offer for the commercial industry there are really a lot of money to come in this branch. Finally we have a whole affiliate industry to enter as well. It is no secret it is not an easy business to enter, forget about getting rich in one night that is not going to happen. Affiliate marketing is a craftsmanship where you can enter a wide range of marketing tools. Two of them are very related to Google Online Jobs and they are called AdWords and AdSense.
AdWords is a Pay per Click Channel where you set up ads for the products you are promoting and where you pay for each click. If you have found the right product it can be a very lucrative income to work with AdWords.
